Hari-Hari Syirik

Berikut adalah nama-nama hari yang dikaitkan sempena sembahan patung berhala;

The First Day: Sunday was named after the Sun god. Old English Sunnandæg (pronounced [sun.nan.dæg] or [sun.nan.dæj), meaning "sun's day" preserves the original pagan/sun associations of the day

The Second Day: Monday was named after the moon goddess. Old English Mōnandæg (pronounced [mon.nan.dæg] or [mon.nan.dæj'), meaning "moon's day" the moon is personified as a god, Máni.

The Third Day: Tuesday was named after the god Tyr. Old English Tīwesdæg (pronounced [ti.wes.dæg] or [ti.wes.dæj], meaning "Tiw's day." Tiw (Norse Týr) was a one-handed god associated with single combat and pledges in Norse mythology and also attested prominently in wider Germanic paganism.

The Fourth Day: Wednesday was named after the god Odin. Old English Wōdnesdæg (pronounced [woːd.nes.dæg] or [woːd.nes.dæj) meaning the day of the Germanic god Wodan.

The Fifth Day: Thursday was named after the god Thor. Old English Þūnresdæg (pronounced [θuːn.res.dæg] or [θuːn.res.dæj]), meaning the Þunor's day. Þunor is commonly known in Modern English as Thor, the god of thunder in Germanic Paganism.

The Sixth Day: Friday was named after the goddess Frigga. Old English Frīgedæg (pronounced [fri.je.dæg] or [fri.je.dæj]), meaning the day of the Anglo-Saxon goddess Fríge.

The Seventh Day: Saturday was named after the god Saturn. the only day of the week to retain its Roman origin in English, named after the Roman god Saturn associated with the Titan Cronus, father of Zeus and many Olympians.

Berikut ialah kenyataan satu majalah rasmi gereja Katholic "Catholic World" yang dicetak pada 1894;

"The church took the pagan philosophy and made it the buckler of faith against the heathen.  She took the pagan Roman Pantheon, temple of all gods, and made it sacred to all the martyrs; so it stands to this day.  She took the pagan Sunday and made it the Christian Sunday.  She took the pagan Easter and made it the feast we celebrate during this season...........

"The sun was a foremost god with heathendom..............There is, in truth, something royal, kingly, about the sun, making it a fit emblem of JESUS, the Sun of justice.  Hence the church in these countries would  seem to have said, 'Keep that old pagan name.  It shall remain consecrated, sanctified.'  And thus the pagan Sunday, dedicated to Balder [the god of light and peace], became the Christian Sunday, sacred to JESUS.---Vol. 58, # 348,  March 1894, p.809.

Begitu juga marilah kita sama-sama mengingati dan mengamalkan dalam urusan kita nama-nama bulan mengikut sunnah iaitu;

Muharram, Safar, Rabiul Awal, Rabiul Akhir, Jamadil Awal, Jamadil Akhir, Rajab, Sya’ban, Ramadhan, Syawal, Zulkaedah dan Zulhijjah.
